WWE Divas - Are There Any Divas Left That Can Actually Wrestle?

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

By Robert V. Dush Over the past 2 years it seems the state of pro women’s wrestling has greatly disintegrated. The WWE suffered a big loss with the departure of WWE Diva Trish Stratus. Trish Stratus, without a doubt, was an icon in the world of women’s wrestling. Trish was arguably the best female wrestler to ever grace the squared circle. Now with Trish Stratus removed from the WWE, there are only a handful of decent female wrestlers left. Amy Dumas aka Lita is one of them wrestlers. However, it has been heavily rumored that Lita will be retiring from the WWE as well. Lita has also immensely toned down her mexican-luchador wrestling style. Nonetheless, if the rumors are true, the world of professional woman’s wrestling would be suffering another huge loss. I would say from 2001-2004, women’s wrestling really made its way back on the map. The WWE roster contained many great female competitors during this period. I mean you had Jazz, Nora Greenwald (Molly Holly), Gail Kim, Victoria, and of course Lita & Trish Stratus just to name a few. What credible professional female wrestlers are left? In TNA, I believe Gail Kim is the only decent female wrestler in the company. Unfortunately, for the most part, Gail has been limited to being a manager. In the WWE there are WWE Divas Victoria, Mickie James, and perhaps Jillian Hall. Victoria has so much wrestling ability, and in my opinion, is the most deserving of holding the WWE Women’s Championship. I hear that Beth Pheonix is a really hard worker, and potentially a great wrestler. I also hear the same of Melina Perez. Most of the remaining WWE Divas are a bunch of former diva search contestants who mainly make up the T & A factor. Now as a webmaster of a WWE Divas site, I certainly am appreciative of the beauty these women possess. I just feel these woman could and should be used in a more effective way. It seems that all of the great female wrestlers out there are working in the independent circuit. The WWE and/or TNA could snatch these ladies up whenever they want. The only question that remains is why haven’t they done so yet? Well, unfortunately, it seems professional women’s wrestling isn’t a high priority nowadays. It seems in their eyes, T & A is much more over with the fans than seeing these women wrestle. So I ask you, the wrestling fan, what would you rather see? Is women’s wrestling dead? Will it ever be resurrected to the state it was a few years back? The answer lies in the hands of time. Want to view pics, gifs, and videos of the lovely divas of ECW and WWE? If so than be sure to surf on over to WWE Divas. Is It a Grill, a Broiler or a Salamander?

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

By Michael Sheridan ‘I like grils”Don’t you mean girls?”And just what’s wrong with us grils?’ Well, it doesn’t really matter much what you call it, it’s a simple device for applying heat to food. I’m going to call it a grill, because it takes less time to type. While grills come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, there are really only two types. One is a rack which is exposed to fierce heat, and you can include the barbecue in this, and the other is basically two metal plates which are in contact with the food during the cooking time. There has been a great upsurge in sales recently of the second type, thanks to some very acute marketing, much of it fronted by a former professional boxer. The main sales pitch has been that using a particular type of grill gets rid of the fat from food. Let’s put that to bed right now. All grills cause the fat to run out of whatever it is you’re cooking. Just ask anyone who has had to deal with a flare up in a barbecue, or clean the tray of a conventional grill. You might also like to consider that the boxer concerned was a heavyweight! The point is that fat runs out of fatty foods. It does that under the grill, or in a frying pan and even in the oven. The idea that it becomes more healthy to eat just because you use a particular type of grill is a nonsense. Which type you use depends on the result that you want. The results you get from a barbecue when cooking steak, for example, will be different from those achieved under an open grill, and different again to those produced by the metal plate type. In other words, feel free to use which ever method you like, but don’t get caught up in the marketing ploy that one is more healthy than the other. You need heat The single biggest mistake made by inexperienced cooks is that they do not get the grill hot enough. It doesn’t much matter what type of food you are cooking, under the grill it needs to be cooked quickly or it will dry out. This applies equally well to delicate foods such as fish as it does to sausages and bacon. So the first thing to do is to get the grill has hot as possible. Yes, that’s right, up to the maximum. Don’t be afraid of this. You can always adjust your cooking temperature downwards if you feel it is necessary, either by using the controls on your cooking device, or (and this is a much better way) moving the food further away from the heat source. You would want to do this, for example, if you were cooking a chicken breast and you wanted to ensure that it cooked all the way through. You might start off close to the heat in order to inject some color and flavor; then move the breast further away to maintain its temperature, when it will virtually cook itself. Personally I would rarely cook chicken in this way. My preference would be to start the process in a dry pan on top of the stove, and then finish it off in a medium oven. I treat most foods that would normally be grilled like this, apart from steak which I only ever cook over (or under) a very fierce heat. Don’t be afraid of this. Buy your steaks at least 1 inch thick and cook them rapidly and evenly, without disturbing them (apart from turning them once) until they are done to your liking. This applies just as much to steaks of fish as it does to prime beef. The only difference is that you need to wipe some oil over the fish (or marinade it) before exposing it to the inferno you have prepared for it, or it may burn before it’s cooked. You don’t need to do that with red meat, although of course you can if you want to. And that’s pretty much all I have to say on the subject of grilling. I think you will find that’s all that needs to be said. It’s a simple way to cook, it’s very effective, but as we have seen it has its limitations. The best advice I can give you is, don’t get caught up in all the hype and don’t spend your money unnecessarily. The grill on your cooker is probably all you will ever need, apart from your barbecue if you have one. A note on the Barbie The type of barbecue you use is so much a question of personal choice, that I am reluctant to say too much about it. The earliest form was simply a metal plate suspended over an open fire. In fact, you will find plenty of these in backyards all over Australia. We even have them in some of our rest areas on the highways. But for all practical purposes, by far the best in my view is one that is fuelled by charcoal, and the king of these is probably the kettle type as made by Weber . The point is that it can be used as a conventional grill, or as a field oven and it produces terrific results with a variety of foods thanks to its versatility. I have even baked cakes in mine! Whatever you do decide on - and there are chrome monsters costing squillions which do everything bar the washing up - make sure you buy one with a hood. Meat roasted in a barbecue has a flavor all its own and it’s so simple to do that it would be a shame for you to miss out on such a treat. You can always improvise, of course. I have a little pot-bellied, cast-iron grill that I picked up for next to nothing in a garage sale, and I have successfully roasted meat on it using the lid off a wok as a cover. Do something like that and you really feel as if you’re getting into the pioneering spirit! How To Have A Great Dinner Party

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

By Fred Henderickson This article will explore what need to be done to have a great dinner party. Whether it’s a big shin ding or a small quiet gathering, there are some fundamentals that need to be planned to make surethat the evening goes off without a hitch. We’ll explore them in a number of parts - 1) Some simple maths. How many people are coming?Did you invite 2 people or 12 people? Will your guests bring some welcome, but unexpected, people too?Knowing the number of people, even as a rough guide, helps to plan things better. 2) What’s to eat? If you are planning a BBQ, and it’s bring your own, the preparedness needed is different to a moreformal setting, where the food and drink is provided by the hosts. Do you have enough to go around, remembering whether extra people may marterialize. Whether yes or no, do you have the resources andthe time to cater for your expected guests. Also, when considering the menu, are some of your guests allergic, or sensitive, to some foods. It may bepeanuts, that the person is a diabetic, or a vegetarian. Is there a alternative food or drink that may beoffered, and if yes, then does this hinder your plan for preparing the food and drink? 3) Where’s every one going to sit? This may sound silly, but if you invited the local football team, and there is only a four seat dinner table, will every one sit on the floor? Of course, this depends on who is coming, as well as how many. If it is yoursister and husband, and their kids, there’s no drama in bringing out the fold out card table, and having a ‘grown-ups’ table, and a kids table (saves some head aches for the adults), but if the Queen of England is coming, then I am sure shewouldn’t be amused to be sitting on the floor. 4) Do you have the time? Do you expect to knock off work, Tuesday, at 6pm and have every one arrive at 7pm? Will that give you enough timeto cook the food and drink, and be ready? What time will every one go home, 10pm or 2am. Will you be awake Wednesdaymorning for work? This can make for a rushed event, and problems aplenty. Maybe a Saturday afternoon is better, 4pm to 8pm-ish, is better with Sunday for wind down. 5) Remember the mess. Hosting a event is not a clean affair. That’s not to say there’ll be muddy elephants tramping through your abode, but everyone likes to put on their best front. Is the house clean, or will it need to be tidied prior to the event? If the sister’s children are invited, will they wreck havoc? A late finish, can mean more time than the fun bits toget things back to normal, or it is left to tomorrow, making your lovely evening a two day event. 6) Make a plan. Have a rough, and I’ll re-emphasis the word rough, as to how you would like the evening to unfold. A good plan is forlight refreshments, and a chat, for about 1/2 hour, followed by the main meal of about an hour, followed by a wind down drink, and farewells of about 1/2 hour, making for a 2 hour scenario. Now times by 1.5, to get 3 hours (of entertaining, not counting preparingand clean up, which is triple the estimate) as a guide. And the big rule - be prepared to through your schedule out the window. 7) Set out a basic step by step guide. Take a blank sheet of paper, and make a pointed guide as to what to do and when, e.g. when to go shopping, a list of what to buy, when to start cooking, and cleaning, when you hope to see the guests arrive and when to sit down to eat. And importantly, allocatetasks to some responsible people, it’s not just your job. Your other half will surely pitch in to make things go twice as fast. 8) Have some conversation, or activity ideas. Don’t get me wrong, don’t force the evening, but have some back up things to talk about, or activities, if worse comes to worse, like theguest of honor arriving late, or the chicken that is taking it’s sweet time to cook. What are you guests interested in, have you seen my new jigsaw,Picasso painting, 3 speed whipper snipper, are all time favorites. If children are present, what will they be doing? Are there amusements/distractions for them?May be that new jigsaw is the answer? 9) Don’t Panic. This is really important - DO NOT PANIC, it’s just a dinner party. Relax, it’s supposed to be a good time. Remember, things go wrong sometimes,as in life learn to see the funny side, and if all else fails - LAUGH. 10) Smile You’re having a good time, aren’t you? These 10 points are designed to ask the questions, and hopefully provide some answers, as to having a great dinner party. Sometimes we are caughtup in the moment, and don’t think things through. By following this article and asking some tough questions, and providing some answers, that next get togetherwill be something to remember for all the right reasons. Successful Job Search: Knocking Out The Competition

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

By Virginia Bola, PsyD Most of the time, competition stimulates us, gets our juices flowing, generates creativity, a sense of excitement, and motivates us to perform at our best. Looking for work is another matter! When it comes to financial survival, to regaining independence and self-worth, competition can be crippling. We apply for a job in the fervent hope that hundreds of others are not also applying. Finding work is too serious an issue to be considered a game or a sport. We need to find that position that will make everything all right, make us believe in ourselves again, and help rebuild the self-esteem and self-confidence shattered by unemployment. Unless we are very lucky, there will be competition for every position we identify. Our remaining option is to set ourselves apart from other hungry applicants. How? Take a global view and emerge from the dank and slimy job search swamp by utilizing a number of techniques I call knock-out P-U-N-C-H-E-S, guaranteed to leave your competitors crying “Uncle” and throwing in the towel. 1. P is for Persistence. We all hate failure. We don’t like being rejected, judged, or found inadequate in any way. Trudging on, day after disappointing day, requires all of our reserves of energy, reserves that are rapidly becoming depleted. From having to constantly present ourselves as enthusiastic and creative, we become blue, bummed, and bone-deep exhausted. We wonder how much longer we can keep up the faade of self-confidence that we secretly admit has long ago evaporated. How can we present ourselves as competent, successful, and eager when in our heart-of-hearts we have accepted that we are a despised failure in a success-oriented culture? The secret is to keep plugging away. No matter the number of disappointments we have experienced; no matter the number of rejections we have encountered; no matter the times when our age, our experience, our skills have been found wanting - we have to KEEP GOING. We never know if “this time” is “the one.” We have to continue to act, no matter how difficult or painful it may be, as if this were the one position we have been seeking. Ask any newly hired worker and they will tell you that just as they were about to give up, along came the gold at the end of the rainbow. Not giving up, no matter how discouraged you internally feel, is the secret weapon in finding a position, no matter how long it takes for the right opportunity to appear. 2. U means Unswerving Focus. There is so much going on in your life: family stresses, financial pressures, multiple demands on your time and your energy. The search for work, although prioritized for a long time, has moved down the “to do” list somewhere below Timmy’s first tee-ball game and the in-laws’ anniversary party. If you have mastered the art of multi-tasking (juggling activities around as changing deadlines demand), you will have realized that finding work is your overwhelming priority and that nothing can, or will, interrupt your focus on that, no matter what else may be happening in your life. Ignoring peripherals and always keeping your eye on the immediate objective, obtaining a job, ensures that opportunities are not missed and that every possible avenue is explored. While there may be time for other things to maintain your balance, the time allotted for job search must remain intact and sacred, no interruptions allowed. 3. N stands for Networking. The often-touted “hidden job market” is merely a term to cover the multiple job openings that always exist but are never publicized. Literally, millions of positions are filled without classified advertising, internet postings, or agency listings. Such positions are identified, and obtained, through personal referral: a job seeker knows someone who knows someone else who has a need for the job seeker’s skills and abilities. Networking is merely a fancy term for using friends and acquaintances to help locate employment. The process requires that when you are in need of work, you make sure that everyone you know is aware of your situation and that you ask them for information and assistance. Beyond exploring job leads with your contacts, it requires the harvesting of names and additional contacts through personal referrals from your first line friends. Like the ripples of a pebble cast into a lake, your access to unadvertised positions multiples exponentially as your network of contacts, and their contacts, expand your chances of being in the right place at the right time when that long-sought employer connection occurs. Many workers draw back from the process after a few attempts, fearful of exploiting family and friends. At its best, this is a mutually beneficial relationship as their self-esteem is increased by having the opportunity to help you. At some future juncture, you may be able to return the favor. 4. C for Communication. A job seeker doesn’t necessarily have to possess the spiel of a professional salesman nor the creative presentation of a marketing specialist but clear, unambiguous communication is critical throughout the hunt for work. Your resume, cover letter, and completed application need to be clear in at least three areas. a) What position are you applying for? Even if you have become so desperate that you’ll take just about anything, an employer is looking for an applicant who specifically wants the job he has available. If your resume is purposefully hazy (because you are looking for several different types of work), make sure that your cover letter is focused on the specific position for which you are applying. b) What have you done in the past that is relevant to the position you are currently seeking? Again, if your resume shows a smattering of skills in seemingly unrelated areas, tie it all together in your cover letter so that it makes sense in the employer’s mind. c) What can you do, better than anyone else, to make the employer believe that he has to hire YOU? If you have operational skills that the company needs, highlight them and what they could do to help the employer’s business. If your skills are limited or you’re applying for unskilled or semi-skilled work, stress personal qualities that stand out: reliability, courtesy, an ability to work with a variety of coworkers and supervisors, flexibility, the desire to work hard to prove yourself, and a willingness to learn as much as possible to show your value. Networking contacts are helpful only if you can quickly and succinctly explain your predicament, what kind of work you are seeking, and ask directly for help whether for possible positions, information, advice, or merely additional names to contact. The need for clarity continues in the interview. Answer questions clearly and directly. Express your hopes and positive outlook without bashfulness or mumbling. Before you leave, get a clear agreement on what the next step will be and if you can call the employer at the end of the week to see if there are any lingering questions. After the interview, send a short, personal thank you note for the interviewer’s time and attention. 5. H represents Humility. This is a two-edged sword. Many of us are so humble that we find saying anything positive about ourselves almost excruciating. We start to mumble when expressing our qualities and achievements. Employers and interviewers are well aware of this. They know that an interview is an uncomfortable and unnatural interaction that makes both sides of the desk anxious and overly formal. Unless the position is in sales, which often demands a somewhat pushy self-presentation, you may make a more favorable impression if you are somewhat hesitant in rolling out your skills and abilities. The applicant who reports strength in all areas, knows everything, and answers every question with “I’ve done that before,” may be looked upon with some suspicion. The job seeker who keeps asking the office manager how much longer he will have to wait or taps his fingers impatiently on the desk, is not making points with the support staff who may have a significant effect on the eventual hiring decision. An employer may seek an applicant with initiative but he also fears a loose cannon who ignores direction and caution. While we admire the “take chances” attitude that propels a Donald Trump or Richard Branson to the self-made billionaire’s club, we don’t necessarily want that arrogant risk-taking at our company, especially when it is our company taking the risk! 6. E equates to Enthusiasm. This is what will wear you out more than anything else. It is one thing to be enthusiastic about our passions, our interests, even our jobs. It is something else to show enthusiasm over and over, rejection after rejection, and not crash and burn at some point. The sanest approach seems to be balance. While your search for work is top priority, make sure that you make time for rest and rejuvenation. Since enthusiasm is an absolute requirement in most job interviews, you would be better served to limit your actual job hunting personal and telephone contacts to 20 or 25 hours per week. Take time to relax: quiet time, exercise, watch a movie, and replenish your energy levels. You will be healthier, less stressed, and more effective when you do make contacts, than trying to spend 40 hours a week “pounding the pavement” and ending up presenting as tired, flat, and desperate when you reach the interview that could have been “the one.” 7. S reflects Self-Belief. Call it faith, call it self-confidence, call it a sense of trust, call it cock-eyed optimism, it is really, in psychological terms, self-efficacy. It does not directly concern what you think about yourself, positive or negative. It involves your belief in whether you are able to affect what happens to you. Do you believe that your actions and words can bring about the outcomes you seek? If I don’t believe that my efforts will have any effect on results, then the world is based on illogic, luck-of-the-draw, random chance. If you look back over your own life, you will be able to identify actions or decisions you took that had certain consequences, good or bad. Analyze and study your own history and you will start to clearly see that consequences follow every action. Move that into the present and future, and it will revitalize your belief in the eventual consequences of your actions now. If you follow the myriad job seeking strategies and techniques identified by experts, and repetitively supported by successful outcomes, you will reach your goal. It is that strong belief that you are “on the way” to success that will carry you through the long nights of worry, the wasted time of disappointing leads, and the pain of recurrent rejection. It will bring you back to the other six areas mentioned by allowing you to focus, reach out for support, communicate with humility and clarity, and maintain your job search campaign with unflaggingly enthusiastic persistence. Phentermine Still Going Strong

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

By Chris Read It is probably the hardest thing to do lose weight! It has virtually become an epidemic in most of the developed countries. Obesity is a problem not only in adults; it is a major threat in the younger children and adolescents. Obesity is on the verge of surpassing smoking as number one cause of preventive death. There are many reasons for being obese. The top most probably is the sedentary lifestyle which many of us lead. The other reason is due to some genetic disorders or some illness which could cause obesity. Other reasons for obesity are smoking cessation, eating disorders (binge eating disorder), stress or insufficient sleep. People with a BMI of over 30 should be counseled on diet, exercise and other relevant behavioral interventions, and set a realistic goal for weight loss. If these goals are hard to achieve or are not achieved due to health reasons, drug therapy for weight loss could be advised. Most of these prescription weight loss drugs have side effects and most of them are yet not known for a long term treatment. The treatment is only for a short period of time. Weight loss medication may consist of sibutramine, phentermine, diethylpropion, fluoxentine and many more. People with over BMI index of 40 and who are unable to lose weight through medication and other conventional methods could be advised bar iatric surgery. Phentermine is one of the oldest medications available for the treatment of obesity. Phentermine was first approved by the FDA in 1959 as an appetite suppressant. Phentermine hydrochloride then became available in the early 1970s. Phentermine is still available in the markets. It is still widely accepted for treatment of obesity. Phentermine is prescribed for a short term use as Phentermine is habit forming. The weight loss produced by Phentermine is the greatest during the first few weeks of the therapy. The beneficial effects then wear off gradually. Phentermine is best recommended for short term use in the weight loss management. Phentermine has to be taken with a restricted calorie diet to produce maximum benefit. Phentermine comes in tablets and extended release capsules. It is usually taken once a day daily in the morning or three times a day, 30 minutes before meals. To prevent side effects, Phentermine should be taken with meals. If taking an extended-release (long-acting) product, do not chew or crush the tablet. There are some tablets that can be crushed and mixed with food. Generally Phentermines are well tolerated but Phentermine pills are subscribed only for a short-term period as long periods of this medication has serious implications. While taking Phentermine one may suffer from dizziness, confusion, and vomiting, blurred vision, restlessness and irritability, dry mouth, stomach upset and constipation and insomnia. Some serious side effects are chest pain, pounding heart, gastrointestinal disturbances, breathing difficulties and changes in libido. Phentermine and its brand names are widely available on internet pharmacies. One can buy Phentermine from any of these sites and one might even get cheap Phentermine as compared to the drug store. Most of the Phentermine online are produced of cheap, relatively familiar ingredients. One must be extremely careful while buying these prescription drugs online. Phentermine should be taken only under doctors supervision and taken exactly as prescribed. Caring for Chrysanthemums

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

By Liza Othman Chrysanthemums are grown either in beds or benches, when the flowers alone are desired, but are to some extent grown in large pots, both as standard and bush plants, for purposes of decoration. The treatment required for each kind of plant is somewhat different. The bench and the bed both have their advocates for growing the flowers, but while some varieties seem to do better in one than in the other, it is probably true that plants in the benches are least likely to suffer from over-watering. Good blooms can be obtained in either bench or bed. Unless top-dressing and liquid manuring are used to supply most of the plant food, the soil should be composed of about one part half-rotted cow manure and three parts thick sods, prepared as recommended for roses. If the soil is at all stiff, a small amount of sand should be added. At the bottom of the solid beds it is customary to place a layer of sods, with the grass side down, and cover them with about eight inches of the compost. The bottom of the benches often has an inch of rotten cow manure on it, with four to six inches of the prepared soil. An alternative to manure is to use commercial fertilizers prepared with special formulas. During the early part of the season, the flowers are grown either singly on the plants or as “sprays,” but later on the plants are trained to a single stem with one flower at the top. The cuttings for early flowers should be struck as soon as the first of April, and other batches should follow at intervals up to the first of July, when the cuttings for the single stem plants can be struck. The best cuttings are obtained from shoots that are firm and that have short internodes. Slender and wiry shoots, and also the weak and watery ones, should be avoided. The cuttings should not be over three and a half inches long, with the leaves on the lower half removed and the others reduced one-half in size. They may be rooted in small pots, pans or boxes, although if many are grown a cutting bed is desirable. The cuttings are inserted about half their length, in rows two inches apart, and about one inch in the rows. While bottom heat will hasten their rooting, it is not necessary, and good results will be obtained if placed near the glass, at a temperature of fifty degrees, even without bottom heat. If particularly fine plants with large blooms are desired for exhibition purposes, the cuttings should be placed singly in small pots containing a mixture of sand and compost at the bottom, and sand at the top. When the roots are half an inch long they should be potted, as they will be less likely to wilt than if the roots have become longer and are broken in potting. Place in two and one-half-inch pots, using a compost of rotten sods, loam and sand. Keep at 50 to 55 degrees, and from this time never allow the plants to suffer for lack of water, food, air, or room. When the roots show through the soil, repot into the three and one-half-inch size, using a little richer compost, and when the roots have filled the pots, have the beds or benches ready and plant out at once, which, for the first batch, should be the last of May or the first of June. Have the soil firmly pressed down upon the beds and just moist enough to work well. The distance for planting will depend something upon the number or flowers to be grown upon a plant. If more than one variety is grown in a bed, place the taller ones at the north end in a north and south house, so that they will not shade the others. As a rule, the rows across the beds are ten or twelve inches, and the plants eight inches in the rows when three or more flowers are grown to a plant, or six inches each way if the plants are to be grown to single stems. Water the plants thoroughly, and until they become established syringe them often, and shade the roof, using whitewash, or better, white lead and naphtha, mixed so as to make a thin wash. Until the roots have taken hold, care will be necessary to keep the soil from becoming saturated. In about a week, give the surface a good stirring and if more than one flower is desired from a plant, pinch out the tip buds to make them branch. As the side buds push out, rub them off at once, unless several flowers are desired, when we should allow three or four to grow and rub off the others. If more than this number of buds is desired to a plant, pinch out the end buds in the side shoots when they have made a growth of two or three inches, and allow two shoots to start from each, rubbing off all others. Look for the Signs! Signs of Depression

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

By Carl English For going on twenty years, I showed strongly, felt deeply, questioned, and tried to investigate what I didnt realize were what about 15 million people go through every year: the signs of depression that have now been researched, therapeutically investigated, and now have successful depression treatment. Before I realised that ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) was the heaviness weighing me down exponentially every day, along with the symptoms of depression, I had a hell of a time staying on focused on the now in the real world. I was dragging my (emotionally and physically) corpse out of bed, where I wouldve rathered stay. Finding it futile to make my bed, as I would just be climbing into it again. I found most outings and daily activitiesthose that used to inspire medull, useless and dead boring! Definite depression signs. I was moany and bitchy. Sometimes, more than a few times actually, I would reach the point of crying. In fact I reached the stage that I would cry at least every day, and even every hour! The symptoms of depression became overwhelming and unbearable. I would look in the mirror to maybe have a shave, and would hear the cold voices in my head, almost very confidently, straight to the point say, Well, you may as well do yourself in now, kill yourself, what else is left. My manic depressive life was saying to me death was the ONLY option and solution available. I had battled for years to exercise by powerwalking 5 miles a day; write, journal, help others, pray, meet people, diet, sleep it off, burn it off by not sleeping, go to twelve step programs, and visit a counselor or therapist. One of the first therapists, a brilliant doctor who volunteered at a clinic in the country, told me that while I pontificated over being clean and sober and not being medicated, I was like the person who walked through a rough part of town at three a.m., got stabbed, and stood there philosophizing about whether or not to get medical help. He said, You have a hole in your heart; we need to fix it. He prescribed Prozac. Carl English’s Pen name is Dr. Happiness. He has been through the depths of Depression and now dedicates his time to helping others. For the rest of this article and plenty more stop by and Smile (if you can manage) to Signs of Depression. Do You Visualize Whilst You Are Doing Breathing Exercises?

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

By Barry McDonald Q. I find breathing exercises very boring is there anything I can do to make less boring? Have you ever used visualization when you are doing your breathing exercises, a lot of people think that breathing exercises are only a manner of sitting down and concentrating as they inhale exhale, which to the outsider can seem as being very boring and monotonous but here’s a few things you can try out the next time, try concentrating on a particular colour on inhalation and another colour on exhalation(for example some colour you link with calmness or purity, and another colour for stress or impurity) having a picture in your mind of your body and as you breathe in, think of all the extra parts of your lungs that have been under used because of bad breathing habits. Taking a breath and picturing the air coming into your body from different areas (such as the soles of the feet for example.) It can especially seem complicated for beginners when starting out to do breathing exercises as you cant see the muscles that they are working on but by visualizing their lungs in action in their mind it makes it all the easier to doand remember when youre doing your breathing exercises you’re not really learning anything new but undoing all the bad habits you’ve picked up over the years. Visit http://www.scienceofbreath.be and start to improve your breathing technique today!
