By William Bell, Jr. To Israel, God promised that he would hear the groaning of the prisoner and release those appointed to death, to declare his name in Zion and praise him in Jerusalem. The scene is the gathering of people from all nations to serve the Lord. (Psalms 102:18-22) The time is future, for God says it is written for the generation to come. Thus, to Israel, God prophesied that he would bring about a generation in the future of his people who would serve and praise him. It is a specific and particular generation noted by the definite article, the. This will be written for the generation to come. (Psalms 102:18) Thus, a particular generation in Israels future history would fulfill this Old Testament passage. Thirdly, this generation was yet to be created. In other words, it would not be the same as the existing generations of Israel. God says, That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord. Whoever this generation is, it is going to be one that God creates, hence a new people to serve the Lord. The words groaning and release of the prisoner echo the refrain from Exodus when Israel was in bondage to Egypt. However, as God looks down from heaven he sees an even greater bondage, that of sin. He looks to the time when he would gather his people to himself from all kingdoms to worship and praise him in Zion. We find the elements of this text completely fulfilled in the message of the New Testament in the finished work of Christ. Jesus, appearing in a synagogue in Nazareth, announced during a Sabbath day service that God had anointed him to release the captives and proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:18, 19) Jesus declared that he would free the captives and those who were oppressed. The comforting of Gods people resulted in their praises and Gods glory. The quotation from Isaiah 61:1-3 also includes the day of vengeance which was the flip side of the coin of the Jubilee year of freedom. Knowing Jesus alluded to their coming destruction, the Jews led him out of the synagogue to the hill on which their city was built to throw him over a cliff but he escaped. (Luke 4:29) It is Jesus death and resurrection which effects the release of Israel in bondage to sin and the law. Hence after receiving the gospel, Paul forbids the church from being entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage, (Galatians 5:1). See also 4:9; 5:13. In 2 Corinthians, Paul confirms that God had in fact created for himself a new people. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17) To the church at Ephesus, Paul wrote, For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:9). The new man of the gospel was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:24; Colossians 3:10) This man created in Christ Jesus is put on in baptism, wherein the old man is crucified. (Galatians 3:26, 27; Romans 6:5, 6) In this new creation, praises continue without ceasing to God through the Lord Jesus Christ. To Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generation, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:21). Peter assures us that those who had been born again, (baptized believers, 1 Peter 1:23; 3:21), were the chosen generation of whom David spoke. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. (1 Peter 2:9, 10) It is this creation which Isaiah saw as the new people who would rejoice before God. For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, and her people a joy. I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people; the voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in her, nor the voice of crying. (Isaiah 65:17-19) The new Jerusalem God created is the church, the bride of Christ. (Hebrews 12:22; Revelation 22:1-3). In summary, the new creation of Gods people consisted of the new Israel created in Christ Jesus. This equates to Jew and Gentile who received and obeyed the gospel in the terminal generation of Old Covenant Israel. God through Christ released them from the bondage and oppression of the law, sin and death setting them free into the liberty of Gods grace in the gospel. Those who rejected Christ, the old creation of Israel, fleshly Jews who held to the Law of Moses were destroyed in Gods day of vengeance upon the land when Rome destroyed Israel in 70 A.D. By Ted Wosko Hi there, We are lucky enough to live in the part of the country known as East Anglia and with it’s gorgeous country side, woods, rivers and sea to admire. We have just got back from an early morning walk with our dog down in the woods. We would like you to share in the joys we have just enjoyed. Try and visualize as we describe the pleasure we have just witnessed. Walking through the woods with the steam coming off the trunks of the trees and rising off the grass as the power of the rising sun unleashes its heat on the morning dew. Looking up into the canopy of the exploding buds bursting into their yearly task of creating their leaves of different colors, sizes and shapes, with the last of the blooms hanging on. Some of the trees like the majestic oaks are still in their dormant slumber yet to awaken to the coming of spring. Looking down to see our dog Rusty bounding over the carpet of bluebells giving off their scented aroma for everyone to enjoy. The air filled with the chorus of songs from different birds saying hello to the awakening world. In the distance rabbits eating the moist grass while lapping up the heat on their bodies. You may also want to read “Scrapbook Ideas for Your Baby Album - Part 1.” Baby’s First Bath As soon as the “belly button” falls off, it’s time for the first real bath. In addition to taking pictures of your baby in the cute, little bathtub, be sure to take one of him/her all swaddled in the hooded towel after the bath is over. And in your journaling you can write about how old your baby was and his/her reaction to the bath. Baby’s First Trip Whether it’s a day trip to Grandma and Grandpa’s house, a weekend getaway or even a full blown vacation, baby’s first trip is a significant milestone to preserve. Regardless of where you go on this first trip, your baby will encounter many new new sights, sounds, smells, people, etc. Journal about how your baby reacts to these new and different surroundings. Baby’s First Solid Food The first time your baby tries solid food is a fun event to capture in photos. The facial expressions are priceless. Given the amount of time we spend on our mattresses, and the stains that inevitably go along with it, it is surprising to realize that few people actually know how to clean mattress stains! The most important thing to keep in mind is that you need to deal with the stain right away. The sooner you try to clean the stain, the easier it will be to get the stain out. Even if it is the middle of the night, and all you want to do is go back to sleep, do not give in to temptation and just cover up the stain with a towel and go back to sleep. You will get a bit more rest that night, but you could end up ruining your mattress. The first step in cleaning your mattress is to try the gentle dry suds method. Take a cup of mild powdered laundry detergent and put it in a bowl. Slowly add about a cup of warm water to the detergent, beating the water (preferably with an electric mixer on medium) until suds form. Using a sponge, take the suds and rub them into the stain, repeating as required. The key is to keep the mattress as dry as possible - that is why it is essential that you only use the suds and never the liquid. Dry the spot thoroughly with a hair dryer before putting clean sheets back on. The above method will work for general stains on your mattress. Two common types of stains, however, will likely require a more intensive method. If you are trying to get a blood or urine stain out of your mattress, take hydrogen peroxide or white vinegar and apply it with a towel in a circular motion around the stain and in to the middle. In the case of urine, applying a coating of baking soda to the newly cleaned area and letting it sit overnight can help remove unpleasant odors. Using hydrogen peroxide or white vinegar is a far harsher solution than the dry suds method, and may bleach or otherwise discolor your mattress. If this is a concern, it is best to spot check first on a hidden section of the mattress. Even if you know how to clean mattress stains using the above methods, you will someday face a stain that will not come out. That is why it is important to remember that preventing stains in the first place is the best protection you can give your mattress. Now you are going to apply the weatherproofing seal, but before you do ensure that you have read the manufacturers instructions fully and if you intend to apply a coat of paint after sealing the deck then make sure that it will work with a paint undercoat. You have the choice of applying the sealant with either a paintbrush or sprayer but make sure that you cover the entire deck and this means you will need to pay close attention to the beams, railings and wall supports if any are present. Then upon completion allow the deck to dry fully as per the instructions provided by the manufacturer. You dont want to find that after spending a week or two building your deck that you have to wait yet more time before you can enjoy it. In theory, this represents arguably the most effective of any measures, but is not practical in most situations, whereas this would require the source to be periodically or permanently disabled from operation. Grounding a grounding point represents a common reference point for a device or multiple devices that functions to ensure the safety or the equipment and operator, and its effects provide some immunity to noise and interference. Certain transmission and other Electronic equipment require adequate grounding to ensure proper operation. The Conductor used to ground the equipment should be the shortest necessary length to avoid a ground loop condition. This could result in energy transfer through conduction to connected devices.
